Fruit for the week:
The Lord approves of those who are good, but he condemns those who plan wickedness. Proverbs 12:22

Twitch, the newest employee at Berry Blast Theme Park has a lot to learn about what makes a great park employee. In order to be the best Berry Blast has to offer, Twitch has to master joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, and love. It's a good thing he has Bernie to train him. Grab your tickets and get in line as Bernie helps Twitch face life's difficulties using the ultimate fruit, the Fruit of the Spirit.

Fruit for the week:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23

Jesus loves the little children …And so do we at St. Stephen UMC West Campus

Two weeks ago, some of the West Campus Kids put together goody bags filled with toothpaste, toothbrush, comb and peanut butter crackers with a sticker that said “Jesus Loves the Children and so do we at St. Stephen West Campus.” This Wednesday, July 8, we will be delivering these special care packages. We are going to meet in the West Campus Children’s Church room at 6:30 for a quick talk about missions and how we can share the love of God. Then we will set out to deliver our message of love. (Where we deliver is still up in the air- but we will have a destination by 6:30pm tomorrow night!) We want to turn the church inside out this summer and spread the word of God further than our own walls. Let me tell you, I am the first one to stand up and say that this is a little bit outside of my comfort zone. Can’t I just stay in my little room and share the love of Jesus with the children? That has been my philosophy for 34 years and Rich has challenged our church this summer to step outside of where we fill comfortable. I am not asking for a leap- I don’t do leaps. I am asking for a baby step. I have made some contacts and am waiting to hear on exactly where we will go, but I can promise you wherever we end up, we will have made a difference. All we are doing tomorrow night is delivering these care packages- we will not be standing on the corner of 45th and Bell proclaiming the word of God as we hold our bibles out to every passing car- Remember, baby steps! Once you get one baby step down, the next one gets even easier!! I would love to have you join us!!

It’s time for VBS!! I am really excited about this year’s VBS. It isn’t like anything our church has ever done before! We will be having three nights of teaching time and on the last night of VBS we will have a fun Family Night. The kids will be able to show you their “campgrounds,” you can meet their teachers and best of all there will be food, fun and games! We’ll end the night with a very special children’s production!! You can register online at http://www.ssumc.net/. It is super easy and all of this is FREE!!

If you are interested in helping out at VBS this summer, we can still use volunteers! I am praying that one of you is feeling super called right now to come and be a preschool camp guide for me. This means, you would be the lead teacher for a group of 15- 4yr olds. All supplies and curriculum is ready for you and I will be there to help every step of the way. You will also have a storyteller, music man and at least two volunteers in your room with you! We have a great team assembled and God has given us one more opening to fill. If you hear God in your ear this very moment, please let me know. We will be having a short informational meeting for all Preschool volunteers for VBS on July 8th at 5:30pm at West Campus. Even if you aren’t sure you want to be a preschool camp guide, I know I have something that would interest you. I will be decorating the Preschool rooms for SonRock Kids Camp on Sunday, July 12 at East Campus at 1:00pm, if anyone is interested in coming over and helping out!

Last thing, I don’t like to waste your time or fill up your inbox with information that you would rather not have. At the same time, I do want to make sure that everyone knows what is going on in our children’s ministry. So, if you like receiving emails, please let me know and I will make a special list of people who like to get info by email. If you would prefer, there are other ways you can get information about West Campus Kids!
I pray you all have a very blessed afternoon and I hope to see you tomorrow night!

We’ve learned some new songs, cheered on our crabs and we know that we have to give second chances. Thank goodness Jesus gave Paul a second chance. This week we’ll see what Aaron and Jamie are up to and how they should encourage each other! Wear your flip flops and your sunglasses. Bring a friend and plunder through the treasure box!
Memorize your bible verse, say it to Ms. Kristen and you will get a very special "Walking with Jesus" prize!!

Monday, June 1, 2009

This Sunday we kickoff Shipwrecked! We'll follow along Paul's journey sharing the word of Jesus! New songs, new games, lots of new decorations. You won't even recognize the new High Voltage room! Jamie and Aaron will teach us how our words can encourage others. By looking at the story of Paul's shipwreck in Acts 27, we see how important our words are in helping get through a difficult situation!

Check out our Beautiful Feet!!!

So the Bible says, “How beautiful on the mountain are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation…” Isaiah 52:7
What good news can you carry with your feet? The good news in the Bible is the story of Jesus. Whenever you hear the word “gospel” in means “good news” in the Bible, it is that Jesus has come to take our sins away. He died on the cross to take our sins, and then came back alive to give us new life. Jesus forgave us all our sins. Your feet should bring the “gospel” or “good news” about Jesus to your friends and your family. Everyone you meet should know that you are a “good” person—and then they may want to know about Jesus. That is the “good news” that you can carry around with you.

How exciting was it to see Jesus last week? We don’t have to be like Thomas.
Have Faith- Not Doubt!
This week, we will learn how even though we can’t see the Holy Spirit, it is very powerful!
Plus, how are bubbles like the Holy Spirit????

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want,
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul .
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
For you are with me, thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.

Believe It or Not????Jesus appears to his disciples, but someone doesn’t believe it is Him!
I had such a fabulous time at our New Creation Party! You are all beautiful butterflies in Jesus!! This week we’ll look at what happened to Jesus’ followers after his death and resurrection!
Verse of the week!
People who believe in Jesus will live forever!
Adapted from John 11:25
I hope Lambchop has been studying her bible. I wonder what trouble she’ll get into this week!

Come and experience the excitement of Jesus riding into Jerusalem as we begin Holy Week!

8:30 am Wave Branches for Palm Sunday then have breakfast in the Fellowship Hall.
9:45 am Dive into the bible story of Jesus’ journey into Bethlehem. Learn why the crowd was shouting “Hosannah!”
10:55 am Wave Branches and then go to High Voltage to honor Jesus with our own unique praises!
Verse of the week!
“For God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:7c Prizes! Prizes! Prizes!!!
Can you believe all the trouble Lambchop gets into? She sure is a mess! It is wonderful that Jesus cares so much for us that He goes before us in EVERY situation before we get there. There’s no place that the sheep will go that the shepherd hasn’t gone to first and checked for them.

I'm experiencing technical difficulties this week, so I won't be able to put in all the cute pictures I usually do. But the important stuff is still here!

Healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons and calming the storm are all miracles of Jesus attributed to the principle of faith. "All things are possible to those who believe," Jesus tells us. Come see how Jesus touched all of those around him!!

Verse for to memorize for Sunday, March 15th: I am not ashamed of the gospel. Romans 1:16a Remember to come and tell Ms. Monika, Ms. Brenda or Ms. Alison your verse for a special prize!

GLOW-- "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil." We had a great time playing with shadows and learning there is nothing to fear. Jesus is there with us every step of the way! A Shepherd cares so much about his sheep that He will never leave them when they need Him!!! NO GLOW next week due to Spring Break!!

It was a crazy week and we didn’t get our verses handed out. So sorry! If you would like to memorize a verse and say it, you can pick any verse you want! Tell Mrs. Brenda, Mrs. Monika or Mrs. Tammy for a prize!
A shepherd’s greatest pleasure is to see all of his sheep contentedly resting.
Our verse we learned on Wednesday was “He makes me lie down in green pastures.” We have nothing to fear when we have Jesus! When we go to Him, He gives us rest.
